Another Gas Saving Tip: Watch Out For Those Right To Left Gas Pumps

What am I talking about?

Well if you’re like me and buy Regular all the time you’ll notice that at the gas pump you automatically reach for the nozzle (or button) all the way on the left.

That’s because most gas pumps, as you would expect in the Western world, are built left to right with Regular (87) on the left, Plus (89) in the middle, and Supreme (93) all the way on the right.

There will either be 3 separate nozzles or 3 buttons and by habit you’ll probably go for whatever is on the far left.

And at some gas stations this can cost you a lot money!

Why?

Because somebody who wanted to make a little extra cash started putting the Supreme (93) all the way on the left and the Regular (87) all the way on the right.

If you’re not paying attention you’ll start pumping and be halfway through before you figure out you’ve been pumping Supreme and not Regular.

With Regular around $4 a gallon nowadays this can cost you plenty, so watch out.

I almost goofed up once.

Don’t let it happen to you: make sure you either press or pick-up the 87 before you start pumping.
