The science knowledge quiz was part of a larger survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science titled “Scientific Achievements Less Prominent Than a Decade Ago; PUBLIC PRAISES SCIENCE; SCIENTISTS FAULT PUBLIC, MEDIA.” O quiz de conhecimentos da ciência foi parte de uma pesquisa conduzida pelo Pew Research Center, em colaboração com a Associação Americana para o Avanço da Ciência, intitulado "Scientific Conquistas menos importante do que há um década, ciência ELOGIA PÚBLICA; CIENTISTAS FAULT público, a mídia".
